Power board (PSU) faults
The power board converts mains power into the voltages the TV needs. In Bangalore, voltage fluctuations and surges are a common cause of power board failure.
- No standby light, TV completely dead
- Standby light on but the TV won't start, or clicks repeatedly
- Red light blinking 2 or 3 times
- TV switches off after a few seconds or minutes
Motherboard (main board) faults
The main board runs the TV's software, processes the picture and handles inputs. Common symptoms:
- Stuck on the SONY / BRAVIA logo or restarting in a loop
- No picture and no sound, but the TV powers on
- HDMI ports or the tuner not working
- Very slow, freezing Google TV / Android TV that a reset doesn't fix (often failing eMMC storage)
Repair or replace the board?
Where a single component has failed — a capacitor, MOSFET, fuse or regulator on the power board — a component-level repair is reliable and costs less. Where the processor or memory on the main board has failed, a replacement board is usually the dependable choice. We explain which applies to your TV and quote both options where possible.
Tip: use a good-quality voltage stabiliser or surge protector — it prevents most repeat power board failures.
Visit and diagnosis charges are told to you on the phone before the visit. Repair work starts only after you approve the quote.
